On December 4, Lisa Hepfner, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, and the Honourable Sherry Wilson, New Brunswick’s Minister responsible for Women’s Equality, will make an announcement supporting the implementation of the National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence in New Brunswick.
The Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, supported by federal cabinet ministers* issued this statement today to urge collective, whole-of-society action to end gender-based violence and to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

Addressing gender-based violence (GBV) is a priority for the Government of Quebec, and it has made significant investments to end violence against women. In 2022, it launched the Integrated Government Strategy to Counteract Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence, and to Rebuild Trust 2022–2027 (Integrated Violence Strategy).
