Just under two weeks ago, I shared our government’s first steps to respond to the Federal Court of Appeal’s decision on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.
The Government of Canada believes that the Trans Mountain Expansion pipeline is in our national interest, which is why we approved the project and why we continue to stand by our decision.
Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Jim Carr, today issued the following statement regarding the Government of British Columbia’s announcement of plans for a consultation period on the second phase of regulations to improve preparedness, response, and recovery from potential spills:
