Robert Sopuck, Member of Parliament for Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette, on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, announced on Saturday, November 1st that the Government of Canada is supporting two fish habitat conservation projects in central Manitoba. Under the second round of the Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnerships Program, Swan Valley Sport Fishing Enhancement Inc and the Upper Assiniboine River Conservation District are receiving up to $23,450 to conserve fish habitat in central Manitoba.

The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and MP for Lévis, Bellechasse and les Etchemins, on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, today announced that the Government of Canada has awarded a $4.5 million contract to Babcock Canada Inc for refit and Vessel Life Extension work on Canadian Coast Guard ship CCGS Des Groseilliers. The shipyard portion of the work will be carried out by Chantier Davie Canada Inc., a sub-contractor to Babcock Canada.
Thirteen members of the Canadian Coast Guard Atlantic Region were awarded Exemplary Service medals today at Government House in St. John's. The awards were presented by the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador on behalf of His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada and Commander-Chief of the Canadian Coast Guard.

Member of Parliament Dick Harris (Cariboo-Prince George), on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, today announced that, under the second round of the Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnerships Program, the Government of Canada is providing up to $140,000 to the Baker Creek Enhancement Society, Fraser Basin Council and Nechako Environment and Water Stewardship Society to conserve fish habitat in B.C.'s Central Interior.

Member of Parliament Dan Albas, on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, today announced that, under the second round of the Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnerships Program, the Government of Canada will provide $55,000 to the Steelhead Society of British Columbia to conserve fish habitat in the Nicola River.

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, today announced that up to $6.8M was awarded to over 80 projects undertaken between 2014 and 2016 under the third round of the Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnerships Program (RFCPP). She also highlighted that a fourth round of applications was announced by the Prime Minister on October 17, 2014. Interested groups have until December 12, 2014 to submit their projects.
