The Honorable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of the Environment, Minister of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) and Minister for the Arctic Council, today announced that a partnership of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, the Inuvialuit Game Council and the Fisheries Joint Management Committee signed the Beaufort Sea Integrated Fisheries Management Framework. This agreement between the Inuvialuit and Canada is an important accord that represents a cooperative management approach to marine mammals and fish that exist in the Inuvialuit Settlement Area of the Western Arctic.

October 17, 2014 - Ottawa, Ontario The Canadian Coast Guard and the Department of National Defence today issued the following statement: A Russian-flagged cargo ship Simushir is currently disabled and floating off the west coast of Haida Gwaii with 10 crewmembers onboard. The vessel has no propulsion and is adrift.
