It is so rewarding to see the completion of this major harbour development project. It was a lot of hard work, and I know that so many of you folks here had a hand in making it happen.

Let me begin by paying tribute to the Lobster Council of Canada, who took it upon themselves to organize this important event.

I was honoured to be appointed Canada's Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and to be leading this portfolio once again. It was like coming home.
