LANGLEY, British Columbia— Mr. Mark Warawa, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment and Member of Parliament for Langley, on behalf of the Honourable Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, today announced $4,748,124 in funding for two projects that will be coordinated by Myert Corps Inc. to help unemployed people in British Columbia find and maintain employment.
“Canada’s New Government is committed to creating the best educated, most skilled and most flexible workforce in the world,” said Mr. Warawa. “We are proud to support community organizations that help Canadians who are not currently employed find work. ”
Myert Corps Inc. will receive $4,354,949 for the Community Employment Resource Centre, a self-serve resource centre that will provide unemployed people with employment-related information, as well as employment counselling and case management. Myert Corps Inc. will also receive $393,175 for Youth Employment Zone, a project to provide local youth with job search support and career exploration services that will enable them to plan for and obtain employment.
