The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health, today announced the appointment of Lawrence Jardine to the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for a three-year term.
Dr. Jardine is one of Canada's leading researchers and clinical specialists in bleeding disorders in children. He is head of paediatric hematology and oncology and an associate professor at Western University. He is also Medical Director of the paediatric bleeding disorders clinic at London Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Jardine is a member and past-president of the Association of Haemophilia Clinic Directors of Canada and serves on the board of directors of the Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario.
Minister Ambrose also announced the renewal of the appointments of Lori Turik and Michael Wilson, who is vice-chair of CIHR’s Governing Council.
