Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated La Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) and the United Steelworkers, Local 9538, on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program’s Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). FMCS provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
“I applaud La Coopérative de Transport Maritime et Aérien (CTMA) and the United Steelworkers, Local 9538, for working together and finding a solution that will benefit everyone. The best solution is always the one that the parties reach themselves.”
