Government of Canada recognizes the National Historic Significance of Tugboats of Canada’s West Coast

Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will take part in a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the Tugboats of Canada’s West Coast as an event of national historic significance. The ceremony will be followed by a tugboat parade. 

Since the mid-19th century, tugboats have been crucial to the development of the main industries of British Columbia, particularly forestry, mining, and fishing.
