Donald Strathearn Rawson (1905-1961) recognized by the Government of Canada as a Person of National Historic Significance

Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will take part in a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the national historic significance of Donald Strathearn Rawson (1905-1961).

One of the first professional limnologist in Canada, Rawson played a central role in establishing freshwater sciences in this country. His groundbreaking work laid the foundation for the morphoedaphic index, an important scientific tool to estimate fish productivity in inland waters.
