The Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development Canada, the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Miawpukek First Nation, Qalipu First Nation, and the Town of Burgeo will gather in Burgeo to make an important announcement concerning protecting and conserving marine and coastal waters along the South Coast.
Minister Hutchings will make the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada.
Minister Hutchings will be joined by the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change; the Honourable Andrew Parsons, KC, M.H.A, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology and Member for Burgeo – La Poile; Chief Misel Joe, Miawpukek Mi'Kamawey Mawi'omi (Miawpukek First Nation); Chief Brendan Mitchell, Qalipu First Nation; and His Worship William Bowles, Mayor, Town of Burgeo.
