Extension of Timeframe to Appeal a PBC decision (COVID-19)

In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) Appeal Division will accept appeal applications beyond the current timeframe of two months to an interim three-month timeframe if satisfied that the delay was justified or that other circumstances make it desirable that the appeal proceed on the basis of the rules of natural justice or for administrative purposes.

This added flexibility will assist offenders in preparing for their appeal, especially in instances where they need to seek the advice or support of outside resources, and communication with these resources, or services in general, have been decelerated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
