National Public Service Week: Celebrating you!

National Public Service Week is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the incredible contribution you make to the healthy and prosperous lives of the 40 million people across Canada. Every day we see examples of the impact of your hard work and professionalism. You deliver excellence in the programs and services you provide, and in the innovation, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving you bring to the table. We wish to take this opportunity to recognize all you do while navigating a complex and ever-changing environment to get the work done.
There is great satisfaction and pride to be found in a life of public service. We encourage you to share your stories of success, learn from one another, and celebrate the excellence that is found in every corner of the public service. This week is also a reminder that our work is a team sport; when we all act with collegiality, respect, and empathy for one another, we build a more resilient public service that can rise to the occasion, time and time again. Collaboration is foundational to the future of the public service and the future of our country. We must always be mindful of the human element of the work that we do and of the people who do it.
The three of us have been inspired by the engaging discussions on values and ethics taking place from coast to coast to coast over the past year, and we thank you for your ideas and passion. We all play a fundamental role in upholding the values that are at the core of our identity as public servants and serve to safeguard the trust Canadians place in us. We look forward to continuing these important conversations, and to sharpening our tools where needed, to bring values and ethics to life in our daily work.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work in serving the people of this beautiful country we call home. We hope you take time this week to reflect on your accomplishments over the past year and on all that we have achieved together. Have fun with your teams and enjoy some of the activities in your life that bring you joy.
Please take a moment to watch this short video that expresses our sincere appreciation for all that you do.
