  • In 2010-11, health care training needs were assessed and it was confirmed a need for resources to address the population-specific issues and a need to increase general knowledge related to tuberculosis.
  • In addition, a tuberculosis outbreak in an Inuit community in Northern Canada resulted in a request for Federal assistance for health care providers training. Health Canada and the Agency subsequently led the development of three complementary, self-directed, online learning modules on tuberculosis.
  • As of June 2012, a total of 1,690 physicians and 1,080 other health care providers completed the modules. Participants were invited to join discussion forums and to complete an evaluation of the modules. Overall the modules received “very good” to “excellent” feedback.
