Travellers' responsibilities

Canadians are strongly advised to cancel or postpone any non-essential travel plans outside Canada for the foreseeable future. Foreign nationals should likewise postpone or cancel travel to Canada.

You can find information about travel restrictions and requirements online. You're encouraged to review these before you decide to travel.

It's your responsibility as the traveller to ensure that you have a confirmed government-authorized hotel booking prior to boarding a flight coming to Canada. If rooms aren't available for your preferred dates, you must change your flight for a date when a government-authorized hotel is available.

Enforcement action in Canada, including a fine of $3,000, may result if you don't provide evidence of pre-paid accommodation at a government-authorized hotel prior to boarding.

List of government-authorized hotels
