Travellers' responsibilities

Canadians are strongly advised to cancel or postpone any non-essential travel plans outside Canada for the foreseeable future. Foreign nationals should likewise postpone or cancel travel to Canada.

You can find information about travel restrictions and requirements online. You're encouraged to review these before you decide to travel.

It's your responsibility as the traveller to ensure that you have a confirmed government-authorized hotel booking prior to boarding a flight coming to Canada. Enforcement action in Canada, including a fine of $3,000, may result if you don't provide evidence of pre-paid accommodation at a government-authorized hotel prior to boarding.

List of government-authorized hotels

The mandatory 3-night reservation at a government-authorized hotel is a fully pre-paid, non-refundable rate. It will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking.

You can only book your mandatory hotel stopover:

Identify that you require accommodation for the COVID-19 mandatory 3-night hotel stopover.

Note, other online travel agencies and apps are not authorized to take government-authorized hotel reservations. If you book via an online travel agency or app, you may be subject to a $3,000 fine.

British Columbia: Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

Ontario: Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)

Quebec: Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

Book your hotel

You must reserve your stay using one of the booking tools below.

Reservations made through other travel agencies, online booking sites or apps will not be accepted. You could face fines upon entry to Canada for not having the appropriate booking.

Some of the hotels offer direct online booking for government-authorized accommodation.

For all others, identify that you require accommodation for the COVID-19 mandatory 3-night stopover to ensure you're booked correctly.
