Canada launches COVID Alert, an exposure notification app - Described video
A hand holding a smartphone appears on screen.
Did you know that your smart phone can help limit the spread of COVID-19?
The icon of the COVID Alert App appears on the smartphone’s screen. The icon is represented by a white maple leaf inside a red octagon surrounded by small grey triangles.
The COVID Alert app will let you know if you’ve been in contact with someone who also used the app and later tested positive.
The smartphone’s screen changes to reveal a screen shot of the COVID Alert App. A purple octagon with a hand indicating a stop signal is visible along with the sentence “You’ve been exposed in the last 14 days”.
COVID Alert doesn’t collect any personally identifiable information. No one will know who you are or where you’ve been.
X’s appear on the words “Name”, “Address” and “Location”.
Using the app is one more thing we can all do together to limit the spread of COVID-19.
A group of smartphones with the App installed are gathered together to reveal the COVID Alert App icon.
Protect yourself, and protect your community.
