Minister Goodale to deliver keynote on the potential of water to drive growth and resilience in the Prairies

Media advisory

Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, as he delivers the opening address at the Water Security for Canadians: Solutions for Canada’s Water Crisis forum.

As the ongoing effects of climate change on the Prairies’ valuable water and soil resources threaten the ability of farmers and ranchers to continue to grow high-quality crops and raise world-class herds, Minister Goodale will outline a vision of how a new water strategy could bolster resilience and drive economic growth in the Prairies.

This event is co-hosted by Global Water Futures, the Forum for Leadership on Water, the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources, the POLIS Program on Ecological Governance, and the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health.
