Federal Student Work Experience Program – After applying

  1. You accept a job
    If the job is full-time, you will only be considered for another FSWEP job starting 10 days before the end of your current employment.

    If the job is part-time, you will continue to be considered for full-time jobs but will only be considered for other part-time jobs starting 10 days before the end of your current employment.
  2. You turn down a job
    You don't have to say yes to a job when contacted. Your application will remain active in the FSWEP inventory for the duration of the campaign but we cannot guarantee that you will be offered another job.
  3. You are offered a job for which you don't meet the requirements
    Our system matches your application electronically to requirements provided by government organizations. If you do not meet the requirements of the jobs you are being offered, double check that your application is accurate and make any necessary changes. (see Making changes to your application)
  4. You haven't been contacted about a job
    The FSWEP inventory is designed to search for and randomly select students among thousands of applicants. As a result, not everyone who submits an application is contacted about a job.
