Horizontal Audit on Credential Validation (completed)
This horizontal audit documents practices related to the assessment of academic and professional credentials across occupational groups that could have potential implications for the health, safety or security of Canadians. The audit aims to validate educational and professional qualifications with the relevant educational institutions or professional associations. The report is available online.
Audit of employment equity representation in recruitment (underway)
This audit is a follow-up to the Anonymized Recruitment Pilot Project, and aims to determine whether the 4 designated employment equity groups are proportionately represented in recruitment processes, and to identify key factors that influence representation of these 4 groups in the appointment system.
Audit of the Federal Student Work Experience Program (underway)
This horizontal audit will examine the extent to which departments and agencies are respecting requirements related to hiring students through the Federal Student Work Experience Program.
Audit of organizational investigations frameworks (planned)
This horizontal audit will examine whether organizations are meeting investigations-related responsibilities and reporting requirements as per the Appointment Delegation and Accountability Instrument (ADAI), as well as formal and informal mechanisms in place to resolve staffing-related complaints and issues in order to identify possible areas for improvement.
Cyclical assessment pilot (planned)
This pilot will conduct cyclical assessments for smaller departments and agencies that require Public Service Commission assistance. Up to 15 departments and agencies will participate, based on their size, complexity and needs.
Other oversight activities for 2019-2020
The Public Service Commission may also conduct other oversight activities, as needed or at the request of a deputy head.
