What to bring with you
In order for volunteers to complete your income tax and benefit return for you, make sure to bring your:
- Tax information slips
- Social Insurance Number
Tax information slips are prepared by your employer, payer, or administrator. You should have received most of your slips and receipts by the end of February. If you have not received, or have lost or misplaced a slip for the current year, you have to ask your employer, or the issuer of the slip, for a copy.
If you need a slip for a prior year, you may be able to get a copy by using the My Account for individuals service; or speaking to one of our agents at 1-800-959-8281.
You can also get your current year and prior year old age security (OAS), employment insurance (EI) and Canada pension plan (CPP) tax slips electronically, by visiting Service Canada.
For more information, see Information slips – T4 and other slips.
