Request publicly available data from the List of charities (Charities Listings)

Use this form to request an electronic version of publicly available data from the List of charities. The data is provided in Comma Separated Values (CSV), and is sent by email or by mail on a compact disc, depending on the size of the file.

Criteria

The following criteria will be applied to the list and the registered charity information return.


Designation code

The CRA gives all registered charities a designation based on structure, source of funding, and mode of operation.

Category code

The CRA assigns all registered charities a category code that reflects their purposes and activities.

Advancement of education

Advancement of religion

Other purposes beneficial to the community

Relief of poverty

Type of data (required)

Identify what kind of data you would like to receive about each organization that meets the criteria you have selected above.

List of charities

Information will include the registration number, effective date of status, designation, category, names, address, contact information, email address, and website address, if available.

List of registered Canadian amateur athletic associations (RCAAAs)

Information will only include the registration number, effective date of status, names, and address.

Privacy notice

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Income Tax Act and is used to complete your request for publicly available charity information. Incomplete or inaccurate contact information may result in your request being abandoned.

Information you send to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by email is not secure while it is in transit. Do not include confidential information such as your social insurance number or personal tax information on this form.

Information is described in personal information bank Charities, CRA PPU 200 in the CRA chapter of Info Source. Personal information is protected under the Privacy Act and individuals have a right of protection, access to and correction or notation of their personal information. Please be advised that you are entitled to complain to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada regarding our handling of your information.
