  • Online banking

    Some banks and credit unions in Canada allow you to add the CRA as a payee to make a single or multiple scheduled payments. Options and services available depend on your bank or credit union.

  • One-time payment using CRA online services

    You can only use a debit card to pay with CRA's My Payment service. You cannot use credit cards with MyPayment.

  • Schedule one or more future payment(s) using CRA online services

    Payments must be scheduled at least 5 business days before the first payment is made.

    Set up pre-authorized debit (PAD) payments in CRA My Account, My Business Account or Represent a Client for direct withdrawals from your chequing account.

  • Counter (teller) service at a bank or credit union in Canada

    You can make a payment to the CRA at any bank or credit union in Canada.

    Payments are made directly from your bank account.

    You will need a remittance voucher.

  • ATM of a bank or credit union

    Before making a payment at an ATM you may need to add a CRA payee through your online banking or by phone. Options and services available depend on your bank or credit union.

  • Canada Post retail location

    Before you pay at Canada Post you must have a customized QR code to apply the payment correctly.

    You can pay with a debit card or cash.

    Some third-party service providers will accept a payment and send it to the CRA on your behalf. Not every third-party service provider accepts the same methods or types of payments.

  • Money transfer through third-party service providers

    Some third-party service providers will accept a payment through Interac e-transfer or PayPal and send it to the CRA on your behalf.

  • Mail delivery

    You can send a cheque or a series of postdated cheques with or without a paper return through the mail.

    You may need a remittance voucher.

  • Wire transfer at a foreign bank or credit union

    Banks and credit unions outside of Canada may be able to wire transfer a payment to the CRA. Options and services available depend on the foreign bank or credit union.

    You may need a remittance voucher.

Payment methods the CRA never accepts
  • Cryptocurrency: We do not accept any form of cryptocurrency (e.g. Bitcoin) as payment
  • Gift cards: We do not accept any gift cards in any form of payment
  • Traveller's cheques: We do not accept any traveller's cheques
  • Cash by mail: Cash can only be used at any Canada Post retail location
