PRPP contribution receipt summary
The administrator must fill out a PRPP contribution receipt summary if they prepare one or more PRPP contribution receipt slips. The amounts to report on the summary are the total of the amounts in the corresponding boxes of the supporting slips. The totals have to agree with the number of slips and the amounts you reported in the boxes of the slips. If there are errors or omissions, the CRA may contact the administrator for more information.
Administrator account number
Administrators are required to file their PRPP contribution receipt information return using their PR account. Enter your 15-character PR account number in this field (example 123456789RZ0001).
If you require an PR account number, call 1-800-959-5525 or use the Business Registration Online (BRO) service to set up an account.
Report type code
This is a required field and one of the following values must be entered:
- Original = O
- Amendment = A
When amending a PRPP slip, the PRPP plan number must correspond to the PRPP plan number on the original summary submitted.
Note
"Cancel" is not a valid report type code at the summary level. Recipient contribution slips that are required to be cancelled should be filed as amendments. Both cancel and amended slips can be submitted in the same amended return. Original and amended slips cannot be in the same return.
Tax year
This is a required field and the tax year must be entered. For more information on filing periods, go to Contribution year.
PRPP plan number
This is a required field. Enter the PRPP plan number that was issued by CRA.
Total number of PRPP contribution receipt slips
This is a required field. Enter the total number of PRPP slips filed with this PRPP Contribution Summary.
Administrator name
Enter the complete name of the administrator of the plan. Two lines of 30 alphanumeric characters are provided for the administrator name (lines 1 and 2). A third line of 30 alphanumeric characters is provided for "care of" or "attention" use.
Administrator address
Enter the complete address of the administrator. Two lines of 30 alphanumeric characters are provided for the administrator's address. Enter the administrator's address (lines 1 and 2), city, province or territory code, country code, and postal code.
Contact name
This is a required field. Enter the contact's first name followed by last name for this return. Do not include titles such as Mr., Mrs., etc.
Contact telephone number
Enter the complete contact telephone number. Enter the contact's area code, telephone number and extension number.
Total employee contributed amount prior year
Enter the total employee contribution amount of all of the PRPP contribution receipt slips filed with this PRPP contribution receipt summary for the final 10 months of the taxation year.
Total employee contributed amount current year
Enter the total employee contribution amount of all of the PRPP contribution receipt slips filed with this PRPP contribution receipt summary of the first 60 days of the current year.
Total employee contributed amount from exempt income prior year
Enter the total employee contribution amount of all of the PRPP contribution receipt slips filed with this PRPP contribution receipt summary for the final 10 months of the taxation year from exempt income.
Total employee contributed amount from exempt income current year
Enter the total employee contribution amount of all of the PRPP contribution receipt slips filed with this PRPP contribution receipt summary of the first 60 days of the current year from exempt income.
Total employer contributed amount
Enter the total employer contribution amount of all of the PRPP contribution receipt slips filed with this PRPP contribution Summary between January 1 and December 31 of the tax year.
