ARCHIVED - Export charge rates for 2010

If a covered softwood lumber product is exported to the United States from a region in a particular month, the amount of the charge in respect of that export is the amount calculated by applying the rate applicable for the month to the export price of the product. For more information on the applicable rates and its determination, refer to sub-sections 12 (3), (4) and (5) of the Softwood Lumber Products Export Charge Act, 2006.

Option A regions, subject to an export charge, include Alberta, British Columbia coast and British Columbia interior. The regions of British Columbia interior and British Columbia coast are defined in the British Columbia Forest Regions and Districts Regulations.

Option B regionsFootnote 2, subject to an export charge and volume restraint, include Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
