About Registered Investments (RIs)

A registered investment (RI) is a trust or corporation, units or shares of which are marketed as eligible investments for registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs), registered retirement income funds (RRIFs), registered education savings plans (RESPs), registered disability savings plans (RDSPs), tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs), first home savings accounts (FHSAs) and deferred profit sharing plans (DPSPs).

It is a pooled investment vehicle similar to mutual funds used by individuals.
