Canadian Armed Forces recruiting process for musicians

This is the third phase of auditioning to be a Canadian Armed Forces CAF musician. It is to secure your status in the Forces.

What civilian applicants can expect in Phase III

The final decision on your application will be determined based on:

  • the results of your audition
  • your military potential score
  • the CAF's current instrumental requirements

If your application is not successful

If we have determined that you do not meet the Standard, following the Phase II audition, we will inform you. Your file will then be closed.

If your application is successful

The appropriate CFRC will contact you to:

  • offer you employment, if a position is available immediately
  • let you know that your name is on a waiting list for a maximum of two years

What Reserve Force applicants can expect in Phase III

The final decision on your application will be determined based on:

  • the results of your audition
  • your military potential score
  • theCAF's current instrumental requirements

If your application is not successful

If we have determined that you do not meet the Standard, we will inform you. Your file will then be closed.

If your application is successful

 Once the CT broker at CMP DMCPG receives your Component Transfer application, they will be able to complete the selection process. When a position is available, the CT broker will make you an offer.
