Federal Sustainable Development Strategy
The Federal Sustainable Development Strategy is the government’s plan and vision for a more sustainable Canada. It outlines goals and actions to promote clean growth, ensure healthy ecosystems and build safe, secure and sustainable communities.
We’ve committed to update the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy on an ongoing basis. The Spring 2017 Update includes results on short-term milestones and updates to key priorities, including announcements in Budget 2017.
The “Report to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development on the Federal Sustainable Development Act” was released on June 19, 2017.
The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators measure the progress of the strategy, report to Canadians on the state of the environment, and describe Canada’s progress on key environmental sustainability issues.
