Twitter Protocol

Shared Services Canada (SSC) uses Twitter, a free micro-blogging platform offered by an American company, as an additional tool to communicate quickly and clearly with Canadians.

The Department currently holds two Twitter accounts: @SSC_CA (English) / @SPC_CA (French)
The account is mainly used as an alternative method for accessing the material posted on the SSC website. We look forward to sharing information with you beyond the conventional government web experience, but always encourage visits to our website for more detailed information.

Content of Tweets

If you follow @SSC_CA or @SPC_CA you can expect broadcasts (tweets) covering how we are:

  • moving the 43 federal departments and agencies to a consolidated, efficient, secure and modern email platform;
  • consolidating more than 300 Government of Canada data centres into fewer than 20; and
  • moving the Government of Canada to a single, shared telecommunications network infrastructure.

You will also find tweets describing how Shared Services Canada will be:

  • working in partnership with key stakeholders;
  • adopting enterprise-wide approaches for managing IT infrastructure services; and
  • implementing efficient and effective business management processes in support of our mandate.

We may also occasionally retweet (RT) content from other users which may be of interest to our followers.

The use of Twitter by Shared Services Canada is intended to encourage interaction between the users of this platform and the Department, and in no way verifies or confirms either the accuracy of user comments or their compliance with the guidelines outlined here. Shared Services Canada does not endorse any of the views in comments posted by other users.

Shared Services Canada cannot control how our tweets will be displayed among other third-party tweets and accounts on each respective news feed.
