Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada
OSB is part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. We carry out our regulatory, administrative, and supervisory duties at arm's length from the Government of Canada.
The OSB is responsible for administration of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), as well as certain duties under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). We license and regulate the insolvency profession, ensure an efficient and effective regulatory framework, supervise stakeholder compliance with the insolvency process, and maintain public records and statistics.
Licensed Insolvency Trustee Designation
The new trustee designation will help Canadians easily identify individuals who are licensed by the federal government to provide insolvency services such as bankruptcies and consumer proposals.
See the latest monthly, quarterly and annual reports on insolvency statistics in Canada, and the latest quarterly reports on the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).
