We’re hiring Indigenous Talent - Transcript
Hello everybody, my name is Tewateronhia:khwa, I’m from the small community of Kanehsatake and I am bear clan.
I am an Indigenous student here at TBS.
Here at TBS, we’re pretty unique because we give many different opportunities, whether it be job-related with regards to mentorship or even networking.
Given that we are a central agency, I find that the work environment is very dynamic and everybody here is very supportive.
They have given me meaningful work experience these last four years and they see my potential and they help me utilize my skills in a way that has helped me grow as a student here.
I think it’s important to have indigenous people working within the public service because it creates a sense of community. If we want to start seeing change within the public service we need to have that community to lean on during the process. And I do believe we can be the creators of change.
And so I hope that everybody who joins TBS actually finds their community just like I did.
