Open Government Week – cause for celebration

I’m Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board of Canada.

The Government of Canada believes that when more Canadians are involved in helping shape our decisions, we make better choices for all Canadians. Open government is good government.

That’s why we’re a proud member of the international Open Government Partnership.

And Canada is eager to take on a lead role co-chairing this global movement over the next year.

Our goal is to help more citizens participate, to include more voices in this partnership and to make sure people understand how open government affects their day-to-day lives.

Expectations are high for Canada in this leadership role – as they should be.
