Transcript - 2018-2019 co-chair priorities for the Open Government Partnership
Expectations for open and accountable government around the world have never been higher.
With Nathaniel Heller, Canada is honoured to serve as this year’s co-chairs of the Open Government Partnership.
The Partnership is the leading global forum for advancing open government.
As co-chairs we are committed to a transformative and hopeful vision for Open Government that serves people everywhere.
But before we take on this role, we’d like to thank Thea Tsulukiani of the Republic of Georgia and Mukelani Dimba for their great work as the former co-chairs of the Partnership.
Over the next year we look forward to working with the 79 countries that are member of the Open Government Partnership.
We aim to make this a landmark year for how governments around the world improve the lives of citizens.
As part of this, Canada will be the home of the Open Government Partnership Global Summit, convening in May 2019 in Ottawa.
We’re excited to be co-chairs of the Partnership as we work to make open government more inclusive more participatory and truly impactful.
We look forward to seeing many of you in Canada at the May summit.
