The Comptroller General's Priorities for 2016-19
The Comptroller General, in addition to actively supporting the President of the Treasury Board in delivering on the commitments set out in his mandate letter, has established four priorities for 2016– to advance the modernization of the government's comptrollership function. These priorities, established in consultation with deputy ministers across the Government of Canada, are as follows:
- Refocus Financial Management Transformation as part of the Back Office Transformation Initiative. Recognizing that My GCHR is a priority, the Financial Management Transformation Sector will focus on linkages between HR and financial systems, deliver an SAP solution for small departments and agencies, and continue work on common data and processes;
- Ensure that the Treasury Board Policy Reset Initiative addresses current gaps in horizontal government initiatives;
- Advance the work of the Comptroller General's Costing Centre of Expertise by focusing outward to improve costing capacity in departments; and
- Advance talent management for the next generation of chief financial officers and chief audit executives.
