Regulatory Stock Review Plan: 2019 to 2029: review of the Government Contracts Regulations

Title or working title of regulatory initiative

Review of the Government Contracts Regulations

Enabling act(s)

Financial Administration Act

Rationale

Review of regulations to align with evolving legislation, administrative needs or government priorities

Narrative

The review of these regulations would be driven by the need to remove and amend the sections that are out of date in order to reduce the risk of misinterpretation. Although the regulations were amended in 2017, the amendments were mostly technical and reactive to stakeholders’ interventions. The next regulatory review would be proactive, strategic and comprehensive.

Date of last review or amendment (year)

2017

Targeted start for review (year)

2022 to 2024
