The review of these regulations is driven by the need to ensure alignment with evolving legislation, day-to-day program management and administrative requirements, and various government priorities. Statutory amendments resulted in a review of these regulations, which was associated with the department’s Forward Regulatory Plan: 2021 to 2023.

Last amended in 2021 with a focus on section 7. Review is underway.
Targeted start for review (year)
Regulatory review is underway. The Public Service Pension Advisory Committee, which is made up of employer, employee and retiree representatives, has been consulted.
Outcomes
Amended section 7 to address the pensionable treatment of periods of leave without pay for caregiving purposes.
