How the review will work
The current review will examine three broad areas:
- Reviewing the legislative framework;
- Opportunities to improve proactive publication to make information openly available;
- Assessing processes and systems to improve service and reduce delays.
The review will engage Canadians on these important issues. As part of these consultations, it will seek the views of Indigenous peoples on aspects of the system that are important to them. And of course, the review will seek the views of the Information Commissioner on how to improve the way access to information works for Canadians.
A report of the review will be presented to the President of the Treasury Board. The report will be tabled in Parliament and published online.
