Incentive package for compensation advisors

To recruit and retain compensation advisors in AS-01, AS-02 and AS-03 positions over the next year, the Employer is providing a number of incentives.

The incentive package applies to compensation advisors working at the Public Service Pay Centre, including satellite offices, as well as to those working in departments and agencies in the core public administration. Specifically, it applies to new recruits, retirees and incumbents of compensation advisor positions in the Program and Administrative Services (PA) group who are performing compensation and benefit duties.

The incentive package includes 3 elements:

  • one-time payment of $4,000
  • temporary increase in the overtime rate from time and one half to double time
  • temporary removal of the restrictions on how much unused compensatory and vacation leave can be carried over before being automatically paid out

In addition, an expedited, independent review process will be established for Public Services and Procurement Canada compensation advisor job description and classification grievances.
