Government of Canada to host wreath-laying ceremony at the Fairview Legion to mark the 35th anniversary of Operation Friction and the end of the Gulf War

Halifax, NS The Government of Canada will host a wreath-laying ceremony at the Fairview Legion Cenotaph. The Honourable Jill McKnight, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence and a delegation of Persian Gulf Veterans will be joined by His Honour, The Honourable Mike Savage, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, The Honourable Tim Houston, Premier of Nova Scotia (TBC), His Worship Andy Fillmore, Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality (TBC), a Canadian Armed Forces contingent, representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion, and other dignitaries.

There will be photo opportunities during and after the event and interview opportunities with Veterans and other dignitaries following the ceremony.
