Government of Canada to host wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial to mark the 35th anniversary of Operation Friction and the end of the Gulf War

Ottawa, ON As part of the Government of Canada’s commemoration of the 35th anniversary of Operation Friction and the end of the Gulf War, Veterans Affairs Canada will host a short wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.  

The Honourable Jill McKnight, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will be joined by Gulf War Veterans, Ali Alastad, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait, representatives from The Royal Canadian Legion, and other dignitaries.

There will be photo opportunities during and after the event and interview opportunities with Veterans and other dignitaries following the ceremony.
