New Public Service Health Care Plan Contribution Rates Effective April 1, 2022

February 18, 2022

This notice is to inform plan members and employers participating in the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) that as of April 1, 2022, the contribution rates for Pensioner Supplementary coverage and Pensioner Supplementary Relief Provision coverage will increase. These changes follow a rate analysis conducted to ensure the relevant cost-sharing ratios are maintained based on increases in plan experience and usage.

The new rates can be found in Schedule V of the PSHCP Plan Directive on the National Joint Council website and will be reflected in the March 2022 pension payments.

Pay and pension system administrators have been advised of these changes to ensure the necessary actions are taken.

Future contribution rates will be adjusted to maintain the relevant cost-sharing ratios between members and the employer and compensate for increases in current and projected plan costs.

Reminder: The PSHCP contribution rate paid by the employer is a taxable benefit for members residing in Quebec.
