The following criteria were considered in this process
Essential qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university; and
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
Experience
-
At the time of application, applicants must have approximately 2 years cumulative experience at the AP-02 level (or an equivalent level) at the OAG OR approximately 4 years’ post-designation experience working in external financial audit, working in internal audit, working on special examinations, or providing financial management services in the area of accounting operations as at appointment date;

Experience* with all phases of external financial audits;
-
Experience* in assessing, analyzing, or applying accounting or assurance standards;

Experience* in assessing or applying internal controls;
-
Experience* in monitoring and supervising project deliverables and assigning audit related tasks;
-
Experience* in writing analyses and findings and in presenting those findings.
*Experience is defined as recent and significant experience that is the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of duties on a continuous basis over approximately 2 years within the past 5 years.
Asset Qualifications

Experience* working in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or in Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) accounting frameworks;

Experience* applying advanced data analytics, data mining, predictive analysis and/or working with IDEA or other data extractions or analysis software to improve approaches and increase value proposition of audits;

Experience* in assessing or applying controls in a highly-computerized environment;

Eligible for a Public Accounting Licence (PAL).

Ability to work overtime, as required.
Ability to travel occasionally.
