About Winter Lights Across Canada

The program Christmas Lights Across Canada, now called Winter Lights Across Canada, was introduced in 1985 to highlight sites along Confederation Boulevard in Canada's Capital Region. Since then, thousands of dazzling lights showcase Parliament Hill, national museums, embassies and other significant sites in Ottawa and Gatineau.

Across Canada, monuments and sites are also highlighted in provincial and territorial capitals. All Canadians can then enjoy the winter lights and celebrate this festive time.

The program symbolically links Canadians and offers a great way for all to celebrate winter in Canada!
