Paid event,Winterlude at the Diefenbunker: Indigenous Craft Workshop

Description

The Diefenbunker values art as a means for expressing important personal connections with our history and its impacts that are still present today. Participate in a hands-on, educational workshop where you’ll assemble a traditional Indigenous craft — a medicine bag — while learning about its history and significance. As you craft, topics like truth and reconciliation and cultural appropriation vs. appreciation will be introduced, in an open environment to ask questions. This event is in collaboration with Makatew Workshops. Advance registration is required, as spots are limited. Youth must be accompanied by an adult. This event is included in the cost of museum admission. The Diefenbunker offers free admission to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals.

This is a paid event.
