Paid event,Thelonious
Description
Jazz up your day with three extraordinarily talented musicians who will bring the legendary African-American pianist and composer Thelonious Monk back to life in a spectacular concert coupled with unbelievable video animations! This is what they mean when they say we “PLAY” music! Play is what fuels this popping percussion, bass and piano trio. Join them for frenzied musical improv with anything that moves (the audience, sheets of paper, projections) and scenery that makes you the star. Leave classic methods and the metronome at the door, and loosen up with the composer of Round Midnight, who said, “The piano ain’t got no wrong notes!” Zonzo Compagnie opened our ears to chaotic musical habits with their performances of HUSH: Henry’s Dream Machine, Listen to the Silence—un voyage avec John Cage and roundABOUT # Tsubasa Hori. With their unforgettable Mile(s)tones, celebrating Miles Davis, and their all-new work on Monk, our Belgian friends are doing the unimaginable: forming a new generation of young music lovers all around the world who are passionate about melodic dissonance. Jazz might be more than 100 years old, but it’s as cool as it ever was. Without words. Age 5 +
