As Canada's Head of State, The Queen took part in many Royal Tours and travelled to all regions of the country. She made her first tour as Princess Elizabeth in 1951 with her husband, The Duke of Edinburgh. A witness to many historic events, she developed a great knowledge of Canada and a deep appreciation of its peoples.
