As the Crown’s representative in Ontario, I offer my sincere condolences to the Honourable Murray Sinclair’s family and loved ones. Mr. Sinclair leaves an indelible legacy. By amplifying Indigenous voices that had long been neglected or silenced, he helped uncover the difficult truth whose acknowledgment makes reconciliation possible. With his own voice, wise and inspiring, he set out pathways towards understanding and hope. May Ontarians, and all Canadians, honour him by walking them together.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." Thank you for the light you shone with, and the love you brought to, the critical work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. These are historic and lasting gifts and legacies. The Interim Report said in its last paragraph. " Anyone who wants to do something about Reconciliation, you don't have to wait till the final reports come out." I was inspired by that to begin Circles for Reconciliation, now in 6 provinces.
Murray was my inspiration.! I heard his voice. My condolences!
