Second language testing: Efficient customer service

Delays? They're a thing of the past! Our oral language tests now meet the 15 calendar-day service standard.

Human resources and managers are more effective thanks to self-service: test takers book their own test dates, for a more streamlined process and fewer cancellations.

The experience of test takers is simplified. They make their own accommodation requests directly in the Candidate Assessment Tool and manage their language test profiles.

Less waiting, more autonomy: everyone wins.

88.3% of test takers say our assessments give them a fair chance to demonstrate their abilities

92% of departments and agencies are satisfied with the candidate assessment services provided by the Public Service Commission of Canada

Priority Entitlements Program: Automated and simplified

The program is simplifying its operations. We've modified our service model, making it more effective for our clients. We've streamlined our process, which has accelerated clearance requests and candidate referrals. We're implementing iterative changes to modernize and simplify the Priority Information Management System. This project includes automating requests, digitizing information, and improving communications and reporting within the system to better support program users, including departments, agencies and persons with a priority entitlement.

Need to better understand priority entitlements or the selection of employees for retention or layoff?

Specific Name Referral Pilot Project

The Specific Name Referral Pilot, launched as part of the Federal Student Work Experience Program, has moved into Phase 3, with 35 participating departments and agencies. In an uncertain environment, hiring students remains a vital investment in the future of your organization, one that is inexpensive and highly flexible. This pilot makes recruitment faster and simpler. Initial observations indicate a residual risk related to favouritism in student recruitment. For this reason, an information session will be held this fall.

Spotlight on the priority talent pool

With the priority talent pool, managers can fill positions quickly, without having to launch a staffing process. By using it as their first hiring solution, managers can find candidates who are available, have the essential qualifications and meet the employment conditions for the jobs they want to staff. Looking to recruit? Simply contact your human resources team to access the pool.

More recruitment support: We have recently launched a pilot project, Pathway to Mobility, with one department; if it’s a success, we’ll expand it.
