Canada is excited to be hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026™ alongside Mexico and the United States.
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the biggest tournament in FIFA history will take place, bringing together 48 countries for 104 games across 16 cities. Canada will host 13 matches, in Toronto and Vancouver.
Soccer is the largest participatory sport in Canada and is considered the fastest growing sport in the country, connecting people of all ages and backgrounds, from local fields to the world stage.

Tournament in Toronto
Toronto will host 6 matches, including Canada's opening game featuring Canada’s Men National Team.

We've heard the final whistle, the trophy has been lifted, and the FIFA 2026 Men's World Cup story has been written.
After years of planning and unprecedented collaboration between Canada, Mexico, and the United States, we have co-hosted the largest World Cup™ ever. Together, we welcomed the world.
And as Canada's Secretary of State for Sport, I am so proud that our government worked with host communities to put on over 400 events across the country, from Victoria to Whitehorse, from Quebec to St. John's, for millions of Canadians to enjoy.
This made it possible to turn this tournament into a true national celebration from coast to coast to coast.
And to our Men’s National Team, congratulations. You have made this entire country so proud.
The memories from this summer are going to last a lifetime.
Kids across Canada are ready to lace up their shoes and play soccer, a newfound love for sport that you have inspired.
And once and for all, Canada has demonstrated we are a soccer nation.
And with the recent investment of the federal government of $755 million in Canadian sport, the sky is the absolute limit for the next generation of athletes, from the playground to the podium.
The World Cup might be wrapping up, but Canada’s year of sport has months to go.
We are keeping this momentum rolling with major international events right around the corner, like the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships in Ottawa and the Road Cycling World Championships in Montreal.
But for now, thank you to the fans, the volunteers, and everyone who brought the energy to local watch parties from coast to coast to coast. You showed the world the absolute best of who we are.
