Call for photographs – Museum and heritage organization policy renewal
Heritage Lens: Share Your Photo
The Department of Canadian Heritage, through the Heritage Lens: Share Your Photo call for photographs, is seeking photographs that showcase the uniqueness of heritage organizations in Canada (museums, art galleries, archives, heritage sites, botanical gardens and zoos with historical collections) and their important role in our society. Photographs may help illustrate the new policy and promote the work of heritage organizations from coast to coast to coast.
What we are looking for
- Photographs that capture the essence and depict the diverse roles of the heritage sector in Canada.
- Creative images that highlight educational and programming activities, community engagement, building/facilities/grounds/virtual spaces, and services provided to the public.
- Photographs of behind-the-scenes activities, such as preservation, organization and research projects.
- Images of the different types of heritage organizations, whether small or large, urban, rural, volunteer run, etc., as long as they are from not-for-profit heritage organizations.
Goals
- Promote heritage organizations in Canada;
- Promote the different types of heritage organizations and their diverse roles; and,
- Build a collection of images that may help illustrate the renewed policy and its related promotional materials.

Step 2: Contact us
After reading the call, contact the Heritage Branch, Canadian Heritage to receive the submission package by email.
Submission deadline
All entries for the call must be submitted to politiquemuseale-museumpolicy@pch.gc.ca no later than Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).
